Shenandoah Valley Amateur Radio Club, Inc.

To promote the exchange of information and radio knowledge, cooperation and fraternalism among members; develop operating proficiency and provide a public service to the community and persons during emergencies and program activities that enhance the welfare of the Amateur Radio service


The Shenandoah Valley Amateur Radio Club, Inc. (SVARC) is one of the oldest established radio clubs in the U.S. It was founded in 1948.


We meet at 7:30pm ET on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month at the club house at 2921 Grace Street in Winchester, VA. After a short business meeting, follows an interesting and informative program. (Click on the meeting to see the program subject.) Visitors and guests are very welcome to attend a meeting and learn more about joining the club.


VHF and UHF repeaters are available for casual and emergency amateur use in the Northern Shenandoah Valley.

The club supports weekly VHF and HF nets. On Thursday nights there is the 2m SVARC Club Net and every Sunday early afternoon is the 10 Meter AM Northern Virginia Emergency Net

We support the local 
A.R.E.S. (Amateur Radio Emergency Services System). We are an ARRL Affiliated Amateur Radio Club.


ARRL NTS

The club hosts VE sessions for those seeking to become licensed or upgrade their existing license.


The first Sunday of August each year brings the club's Berryville Hamfest to hams all around the region.
